Background
Prior to his current Engineer and Program Management roles, Stephen had a 32-year career with Defence R&D Canada at Suffield, Alberta before retiring to the private sector in 2020.
Stephen worked in diverse areas including CNC manufacturing; warhead design and testing; CBRN defence; air/ground robotics including immersive imaging, machine autonomy/intelligence; and Program Management. For his work, he was awarded the “Performance Excellence Award” in 2005 and the “Science and Technology Excellence Award” in 2010, which are the highest honors for Defence Science available in Canada.
He is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a BSc. in Physics/Math and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering. Stephen is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Drone Pilots Association of Canada.
