Background
As an Engineer, Russell is supporting the BVLOS Innovation Centre’s airworthiness program by conducting research and trialing various testing methodologies to more fully understand the capability and limitations of various flight critical RPAS components. In addition, he aids in the operations carried out at the Foremost UAS Test Range to put his research into practice across different aspects of the RPAS industry.
Russell recently completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Throughout his studies, he took electives that focus on project management and entrepreneurship as well as manufacturing processes and systems. He has a high aptitude for software and programing and is deeply self-motivated in all his personal and professional undertakings.
Russell is well rounded, having previous industry experience in cabinetry and landscaping where he fostered a safe working environment and has gained experience in leading others.
